Articulating carriages come with compromises over the prototype arrangement.
with 12" to the foot scale, carriages can be placed 1ft apart and traverse corners in the full size railway quite happily.
At 4mm/ft scale, this provides a challenge as most layouts (excepting straight up/down ones) have corners much sharper than scale. For this reason, articulated carriages have to be more than 4mm apart, probably 8mm, possibly 11mm depending on corners.
These bogies give you choice on how to achieve this. I've made a video on Youtube working through the options and benefits.
This item covers prototypical articulation, 1 pivot point between the carriages as well as under the frame articulation. So the bogies all have 3 pre formed holes allowing for choice as you build.
Close couple bogies are available as a separate product
I don't include wheels or bearings as everyone has their own favourite choice of supplier. Designed for 26mm axles and works well with wheel sizes up to 14mm diameter in OO, EM and P4.
Resin accepts normal paints with no special preparation. Parts can be glued using PVA , superglue or most other adhesives.
NB plastic glue won't work on resin.
